the best is ghd. voted best in every magazine. go to sephora.com and search ghd and read the reviews. theres like hundreds and its average is like 4 1/2 or 5 stars, i forget. but it actually works phenomenally and can also curl. trust me, ive used many flat irons and nothing has worked close to this. yes it is verrry pricey but the pricier, the better when it comes to flat irons. i saw a few on ebay for as low as $70
regardless of what brand you go with I'd suggest getting a ceramic one, or a chrome finish one if you can't find ceramic, or they're too expensive. The hair will slide off the plate much easier, and you'll have less breakage.

It does have a curling feature (not sure if you would use it or not) but it's got a lot of different temperatures to choose from so you can avoid over drying your hair.
the chi is the best. it is worth the investment! youll pay about 150 for one...beauty supplies that sell to the public are cheapest...or you can go kijiji/ebay for even less. i have a babybliss that i bought a couple years ago. it was just under 100 (im sure its gone down by now). dont waste your money on a conair one. ive had a few and they're not worth buying.
I have one by HerStyler...it is pricey..cheap ones are not made out of ceramic plates which is essential if you want a good straigtener that is not going to leave your hair frizzy and dry looking after a while..



And i think it is okay to invest in a product like this..it is worth your money!
Chi is the best. I know you said you don't want to pay 100$, but it does the job quickly and efficiently(it's also great for the hair type you have, since it can go to really high temps.). The cheaper ones break easier and don't work as well.
I love my hair straightner. It is called the herstyler. It is made of 100% tourmaline or ceramic which means it wont burn your hair like conair does. You can usually get it at your local mall or on the internet! It costs alot but its worth it!

Chi $120 it i worth it you should buy it. I guarantee that you will love it. I have one and when I straighten my hair it looks gorgeous. When you straighten ur hair with a chi it will look like you got it done. It will make ur hair manageable. I hope it helps.
if you want like guaranteed straightness you need paul mitchel. its fabulous and works like a charm! it might be a little expensive but it is completely worth it!

i think u should by conair infiniti it works really well at least i think so.
my sis got 1 for $20.00 and its Revlon, her hair is stick straight when she does it and it doesn't get dry and brittle
