My hair straightener has a red light when it's switched on, not to tell you that it is ready to use.





Use your initiative when determining whether your straightener is ready or not. If you have the kind of straightener that requires water in order to use it, put it up to your ear and if you can hear a slight hissing noise, it's usually ready. I'm not sure if the same thing applies to non-steam straighteners though.
