I have it and used it for a while and went back to my old one. it tends to dry my hair out a ton.
It's the best I've found so far. It works well for me but I don't have really thick hair or really curly hair. So it may not work well for a person who does.

I wouldn't be without mine. You can put products on before you straighten to protect your hair (talk to hairdresser), but I don't even do that.

SEDU! I'm not joking. I've had my sedu for 3+ years, it still heats up in under 20 seconds, and still straightens my hair to a SHINE. i have a vidal sassoon ceramic straightener, but conair is all right too. make sure to get a ceramic one because a metal straightener or curler damages your hair. make sure that you get something to protect your hair when you use it. put garnier fructise shine serum in your wet hair to avoid split ends and damaging it. i use it and it stays straight for 2 days straight if you do it right:)
p.s. make sure that u straighten it in 2-inch sections at a time, or else it won't work well

I need an efficient, relatively cheap hair straightener. I have tried multiple brands over the past four years, but never really find one that amazes me! I saw a Cortex int flat iron (standard one for use on dry hair only) at the mall being sold at the kiosks or whatever they are called. (I have it for about 9 months). The hair stays straight with it for 3-4 days even when it's humid (and I live in Florida...)

Those have always been permitted. I have not heard anything in the last week that indicates that they are all of a sudden not longer permitted. There is no reason to prohibit items like that - they are not liquid, they are not sharp, they are not explosive, they are not a weapon.

I use a Conair right now and they are better than the other brands.

well if you are going for cheap its defanantly wet2straight... idk how thick the plates should be because idk how long your hair is... mine is down to my shoulders and i use the 1 inch... the wet to straight one is defanantly the best if you wanna pay less than 30bucks
I have never seen a straighter that is under $30. If I were you I would invest in a good straighter. I use the CHI. I have very curly hair and I also use the CHI oil. You can fnd them at Target or if you are close to a JC Penny's they run specials on them a lot. Check it out

NEVER TRY A HAIR RELAXER! unless you have virgin hair! and well chi orks really good! many straightners work well but.. they give you slit ends or burn your hair, the way to test if a straightner is burning your hair is to turn it on let it warm up an put it on a white paper like the printer one. close it on it and if it lookes a burned color well your hair is not going to be vary healthy. TRY A CHI !

What's wrong with my Chi hair straightener?
I bought a Chi hair straightener the summer of 2006 (it was the best investment of my LIFE). Just the other day, I went to use it, and the straightener wouldn't spring back open once I closed it! It doesn't seem like it's stuck, it's more as if the spring that allowed it to open back up isn't working or is worn out (I use it almost every day). I can still open it back up, but I have to do it manually. It also seems as if it's not straightening my hair as well as it did when it would spring back open.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how or where I can get it fixed?What's wrong with my Chi hair straightener?

If you have thin and controllable hair, most straighteners should work well, but don't go high temperatured, nothing over 400 for it would fry thin hair.
If you have thick hair like my family, you do need hair temperatures. 400s are fine for thick hair, 300 works I guess, but it takes lots of time. I would not recommend 200s for thick hair, it'll taken 2 hours or so.What kind of hair straightener should I get?
Get the ';Chi Turbo'; It comes with a 1 yr. warranty. I take mine back every year and get a new one, just in case. They cost too much money not too.

so im looking for a new REALLY good hair straightener. my salon uses chi and i used to have a xion but they both break really fast and only have a one year warranty. I have heard sedu is good but does anybody know? also i want the kind that helps with ions or whatever too. The Chi hair straightener should have a lifetime warranty, no matter how it breaks. The new Paul Mitchell hair straightener is supposed to be very comparable to the Chi. A ceramic straightener is best. I always recommend to learn how to use a roundbrush to straighten your hair. That way you are only blowdrying your hair, instead of drying and then straightening. If you learn how to use a roundbrush, you will be better off. If you need to, have your stylist teach you how to blow dry your hair using a roundbrush. With your length, you need a larger brush, and with your texture, you want the plastic bristles. You can go into a Trade Secret or beauty supply store and ask for help.What brand of hair straightener?

iv got babils and i think there great or the ghd is ok but i think there all the same you've gota get one witch has got hi heat but dnt use them to much coz it courses your hair to split and go very thin and dead

Ever thought about doing things easy? just use Mixed Chicks hair products and you will get loose curls without any frizz and you can do it by air drying.
Or you can just Mixed Chicks deep and a bit of the leave-in on the tips before you iron...this way no chemicals.

iv got babils and i think there great or the ghd is ok but i think there all the same you've gota get one witch has got hi heat but dnt use them to much coz it courses your hair to split and go very thin and dead

Any straightner you use everyday will damage your hair. I use a hair dryer and a straightner everyday. All you have to do is use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Forget Chi's. Try AMIKA (www.loveamika.com). Chi is only ceramic COATED on the top, that is why people find so many troubles with it few months after there purchase. Unlike the chi, amika is 100% ceramic. I got mines off ebay for only $60 (brand new). They normally retail for $250. You should definately try it, can't go wrong with it!

to be honest all hair straighteners can ruin your hair if you use it to much. but i use conair and it is pretty good so far i just bought it a couple of days ago.
