Genalli milano hair straightener. how to curl hair using it.?

I bought the Ginalli Milano hair strightener last week and before i bought it, the lady who was selling it demonstrated on my hair how i can use it to even create waves and curls. The product came with an instructional DVD but it's defective. I forgot how she did it, i tried today but it was a disaster. Does anyone have this product and if so, how do i make those darn curls!?!?!?! thanks for any help you can give. have a nice day!Genalli milano hair straightener. how to curl hair using it.?
alright- first you'll save yourself a lot of time just getting a curling iron.

Just treat it like a curling iron. Clamp the ends down and then twirl the hair around it.

I remember a few years back a hair straightener that kept going around to straighten your hair.?

saw it in an infomercial do they still sell the and what is the name.I remember a few years back a hair straightener that kept going around to straighten your hair.?
Welll....You can go for ';Loreal strightening cream'; or ';well straight'; Never forget to use Iron Bar on the hair , otherwise the result will be only 50%.

With the price tag, your best bet would be to wait a little while. After a few weeks, reviews of the new Tigi product line will start appearing on sites like amazon and epinions.com. You can get a pretty good idea of whether or not something works the way it's supposed to by reading about other peoples' experiences.Bead head Light me up by TIGI hair straightener?
well it depends on what kinda hair you have. but TIGI is a very good product line and i like and use most of their products.

.Hey, I'm a mixed race male, black/indian, I was wondering is there a long lasting, hair straightener.?
some salons do this thing thats like a perm, but it makes it straight, itll last as long as curly perms do
You could try Thermal Straightening. It would last longer than a month but it's very expensive. There are other types of chemical straighteners and depending on the amount of curl they could work fine too.
any straightener is pretty permanent, but guys usually have short hair. the hair that is straightened will stay straight, but the new hair that grows in will be curly. unfortunately, if you have ethnic hair, i would just let it be curly and keep it really short
hi well it depends on what type of hair style u have well i have an afro do its pretty hard but one good hair straightner i know is called herstraightner its my sisters but i was playing aroud with it and it kept my hair straight for the whole day
    Try A CHI. =]

Does anyone know the name of the hair straightener that also trims like a 1/4 of an inch of you hair?

is it a CHI straightner?Does anyone know the name of the hair straightener that also trims like a 1/4 of an inch of you hair?
I straighten my hair everyday.Wouldnt you go bald or something?

I want a Chi hair straightener...are there any that compare at all that are any cheaper?

I was told the Chi company went out of business. I had a Chi hair straightener, along with about 10 of my relatives, and they all broke after about a year. No biggie though, we had lifetime guarantees. Well the salon we bought it from said that Chi went out of business so we couldn't get them replaced or fixed. So I got a conair one that's been working for about a year and a half and still works fine. If I'm going to buy a new straightener ever year, I'd rather get a $15 one than a $100.I want a Chi hair straightener...are there any that compare at all that are any cheaper?

i used to have a chi, but now use a revlon ceramic and i like it a lot more.. for the most part use as high heat, ceramic plates, and use a heat protectant
You can get them on Ebay
no i here those are the best to buy. If you get the cheaper ones like at wal mart or some place like that then youll only find yourself buying another one in a few months.

    CHI Hair Straightener question?

I'm thinking about getting a Chi but i have a question:

If you run over a section of your hair with it once or twice, will it be perfectly straight?

IF NOT, what do you suggest? under $60 please!CHI Hair Straightener question?
i have had my chi for over two years, i absolutely love it. best hair straightening tool ive had. my salon stylist using one by GHL or something in that neighborhood which works well. i used to have thick hair but got it thinned out, either way i love my chi i suggest getting one if you want a long time investmentCHI Hair Straightener question?
it depends on ur hair if it is really curly no it will take like 5 times, if u have not so curly hair yea about 2 times.
Probably. I hear the CHI is the absolute best. If not, there is wet to dry straighteners that sell for 20-40 dollars. They are probably not best for hair but they straighten very quickly. Good luck :)

Best hair Straightener for curly hair?

my hair has big curls under my top of my hair and i try 2 strightghing it with my all of my sisters diffrent straightener but it never works!!!!! help and spcial products???Best hair Straightener for curly hair?
i use the original chi straightener and there straightening products and i love it!!! my hair is really curly and thick and i can straighten it in about 30 min, where as other straightners took about an hour!!!! also it looks like i have naturally straight hair when i straighten it and leaves it with a good shine!!!:DBest hair Straightener for curly hair?
I've got really curly hair.. and i use a chi and it works like MAGIC!!! They are pretty expensive for a hair straightener.. but it's worth investing in. I also use Chi Silk Infusion... its a thermal protectant and helps it look more natural and healthy... and it smells great! Good luck
CHI straitening iron. It is expensive but it works very good
you can use corioliss or CHI. they are both really good

Which spray or cream is good to use with hair straightener??

Tres'eme heat defense is quite good.

but when i needed one i got a cheap [not big make] one called 'Live It' and it helps my hair alot, if you find it in a shop its about two pounds. it helps make hair soft and shiney =]

hope i could helpWhich spray or cream is good to use with hair straightener??
I use Halo Smoothing Gel, Bumble and bumble Straight, and GW Super Smoothing applied to towel-dried hair over a moisturizing foundation on my clients who prefer a straight/smooth finish. If you are inquiring about heat styling products, I would suggest GHD products coupled with their iron. Check out their instructional videos on YouTube. Search terms: GHD.Which spray or cream is good to use with hair straightener??
THE BEST ON I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO USE IS LEE STAFORD POKER STRIGHT IS LOOK AND SMELL GREAT PROTECTS YOUR HAIR FROM HOT IRONS AND POLUTION BAD AIR TRY IT
im not sure i dont even no how to keep my hair straight after ive straightened it
I've tried loads and the best without a doubt is GHD protecting oil. You spray it lightly over your hair before you straighten and it protects while giving a great finish. It's more expensive than other brands, but you get a far superior result.
Use Tresemme Heat Defence Spray. It's the best one around, and it keeps your hair in great condition!
I use Treseme Hair straightening spray, I 1st use Treseme Hair serum which makes my hair feel really soft.
Well it depends, what are you using it for?
a heat protecting spray should stop the straightener from damaging your hair!!
I have been doing hair for 3 years now and the best thing I have found is CHI Silk Infusion, you apply a small amount when the hair is wet, then blow dry it and apply again if needed and straighten it. I have found that when I use this my clients hair is straight for at least 3 days. It also protects the hair from the heat and it smells great.
i like scwarzkopf heat protection styling spray (the pro styling range). its the one in a clear bottle with a pink spray top (kinda looks like a plant spray lol) its really good and keeps my hair really soft! cheap too :)

What is the best kind of hair straightener to use on think curly puffy hair??

The best flat iron on the market is the GHD Hair Straightener. The CHI is also pretty good. Both are ceramic, and won't damage your hair as much as a cheap metal iron. I think the GHD is more effective, though. The CHI is really popular in America, while the GHD is popular in the United Kingdom and Australia. It's best to use a ceramic iron that has ceramic plates, and is not just ceramic-coated.

You can buy both at http://www.folica.com/. If you decide to get one, don't straighten your hair every day. Straightening it every day will do untold damage to your hair, even if the iron is ceramic. Always use a heat protectant before you iron your hair.

L'Oreal makes one, and so does BioSilk. If you don't want to purchase a hot iron online, you can probably buy the CHI or GHD in a salon. Salons usually charge more, though.

You can look up ceramic iron reviews on this site: http://www.makeupalley.com/.What is the best kind of hair straightener to use on think curly puffy hair??

What a is a really good hair straightener to buy!! best answer 10 points!?
    okay first off trust me...

that a hairstraightener should be pretty expensive if u dont want it to fry your hair!

i've had a few and the one i am upsessed with is...

    the GHD hair STYLER!!!

styler... because it straightens, curls, crimps, adds volume, and makes waves... without having t change the surface..

it heats up in 20 seconds (i counted)

    ca be used INTERNATIONALLY...

sooo if u move far away or go sumwer for vacation u can use it and not have to worry about the voltsge frequency of the continent and having your straightener die...

after 30 minutes it turns off and goes on sleep mode (s it cant set your house on fire)

its ceramic... so its GOOD for your hair and conditions it...

    it mkes your hair healthier....

it straightens my thick past the boob long hair in 10 minutes and stays straight the whole day...

it hs lik a 10 year warranty...

but if u buy it at a salon (which is the only plce you can but it....)

    it's 360$

this is the one i have...

    http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/ghd-IV-styler

this is the pink one (limited edition)

    http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/ghd-iv-pink-st/a>

    GOOD LUCK!!

believe me if u get a cheap one you'll be disapointed!

What a is a really good hair straightener to buy!! best answer 10 points!?
Ceramix hair straighteners are what hair dressers use, they are usually priced for around 100 dollars.

They're great if you use the right products to go with it. They heat up within ten seconds, last a long time, and you can definitely trust the product because ever hair dresser I have gone to uses those.

If your hair is really thick and curly I would suggest using a chi hair straightener. These are a bit more pricey but they are well worth it! You can get them on eBay for a decent price. My boss got one for 60 dollars on eBay.

Stay away from drug store brands such as conair if your hair is hard to manage....such as really thick and/ or curly hair.

    I hope this helps!
The CHI is probably the best straightener out there. it works really good, and it barely damages your hair. as for buying it you can get it online, or probably at any salon. as for price, it gets expensive, to $119, here's a website.

    http://www.target.com/CHI-Ceramic-Style-/a>
Same here, I'm settling in for a nice one since my Remington wet2straight is sucky =/

anywho, I'm going for a Sedu.

I've been stuck between Sedu or a chi,

but I read some of the reviews from folica.com

Btw, go to that website for review, information , price, etc.

    It's really useful :)

The prices are pretty high if your going for a nice one, but it is worth it .

    Good luck!
Definitely a Paul Mitchel. They have a lifetime warranty and cost $130-$160. They have a new one out now. It's silver and crease proof. I use it everyday and it lasts all day.

umm conair is always good hair stuff but if you go to a drugstore there cheap and some look really good but get a thin starightner if you want to do special with yuor hair your better off =]
You should get a chi hair straightener. Ive tried a few before and by far this one is the best. It's a bit pricely. $100-150
I have Chi for about 4 years now and it works good

    it is about $160

Pros and cons about a CHI hair straightener.?

    alright well,

im looking into getting a chi hair straightener and i really need to know the pros and cons and if it worth getting.

and i live in canada and i dont really know where to get one and ow much are they.

and i DO NOT want to but one off the online.Pros and cons about a CHI hair straightener.?
a chi is the best hair straighten there is. when ever i go to the hair salon that's how they straighten my hair. the really good thing is that there are multiple heat settings and that chi has their own brand of hair care so you can never damage your hair. also the bad thing is that they are about 120$ for the cheapest flat iron of theirs. u can find a chi at the beauty supply store where all of the hairstylist buy their products. hope this helps u!Pros and cons about a CHI hair straightener.?
PRO: Proffesional Straightener. Best straightener you could get.

    CON: Cost over $150.

Worth getting? If you have really unruly hair and its super curly I suggest you buy one. If you have wavy hair then you should get a cheaper straightener. Conair is good. It will still straighten your hair just as good as a CHI.
I have one of those straighteners :) and its all pink haha.

But its really good because it doesnt fry your hair... it adjusts the heat itself depending on how much moisture is in your hair.

The only bad part is its kinda skinny so it takes a while to straighten your whole hair.

But they are expensive too... like $130 i think in the u.s
i think they work so good! a lot of straightners really dont work on my hair but these do. My hair is always left shiny and smooth and VERY STRAIGHT. I reccommend getting one.

can you answer mine its about my hair..i need help picking a new style...MUCH THANKS:)

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;/a>
    pros:everything, great iron

cons: price usually about $130 may be a little more expensive for you just because ive noticed things always seem more expensive in canada lol
    Ive gone through three chi's.

Sure it straightens pretty good, sure it heats up fast.

But the straightener breaks off ends and makes hair brittle faster than any straightener Ive ever used.

    and they break easily.
i think my mom bought one for like $100 and i guess it works realy good because otherwise she wouldn't buy it.
    Pro: Solid piece of equipment.

    Con: Price!
    They are around middle 100's

thats really the only bad thing.

    they heat up fast.

    they straighten the best.

    What is better? (hair straightener)?

I have like a thick one, but I've heard that skinnier ones are better. Is that true?

Thanks. :DWhat is better? (hair straightener)?
    thin hair- skinnier

thick hair- thickerWhat is better? (hair straightener)?
Thin straighteners help you style the hair better, thick ones just like straighten it like flat. But with thin ones, you can do curls, you can get more volume if you want, you can do flips. And I have used both kinds and I definitely like the skinnier ones. Some really good straighteners that would be good are

    1. Chi- you can get it at target or any place that sells hair things, it works really good, it wamrs up in 90 seconds. and it straightens fabulouss!

    2. Royale- this straightener is seriously amazing. i dont have it yet but im getting it. me and my friend were walking in the mall and we stopped at one of those things in the middle of the mall with the straighteners, and she did it on my friends hair. it made her hair SO smooth, you dont ahve to use heat protectant, and it curls REALLY good. the chi doesnt curl. It comes in all different designs too. so i definitely recomend that(:
i have a straighter called a chi and its awesome im a black american and my hair is sometimes puffy but that`s when i was little now i have good hair like it makes my hair silky and have body now everybody at school wants my hair its a skinny kind and i think they work better now my hair is at the end of my back it works for any ethnic
honestly, I don't believe theres a difference, but listen to me: Don't straighten your hair every day, it causes damage no matter what size you use. It's like burning it. Also, every time you straighten it, you should apply some heat-protectant to your hair first. It comes in sprays or creams %26amp; isn't expensive usually but is SO worth it to have healthy looking hair. Trust me.
    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51/a>

It depends on the brand really. That's the iron I have, and it is AMAZING. It is 1.5 inches and it's ceramic. It takes me about 15-25 minutes to straighten my hair, but it gets up to like 400 degrees! [:

To be honest, the more expensive ones are usually the best ones. Mine was $120
It depends on the hair type. I have somewhat thick and wavy hair and I use FHI Heat. It is amazing and my hair stays straight for days. It all depends on the hair type. Skinny can mean more time, but all the hair is straight. Thick=shorter time but might not get all catch all the hair.
i personally have a one inch thin one, and i love it. its more concentrated heat on a strip of your hair, so the results are always sleek and perfectly straight. thick ones are okay, but i always found they snagged my hair. i will never switch from a one inch, i love it!
for me the skinnier ones work better, my hair is really thick so i can do the small sections better and i think the smaller ones have more heat.
i would say the skinnier ones work slower because they can only grasp so much hair. but i have a rather medium one and it seems to work just fine. stick to the one you have
its easy to work and you have more control

also heats up quicker and can maintain the same heat even if you are using buy HAI CHI or GHD great flat iron and i heard the nano babyless works great too.
i'd go for a one inch one.

    they are better because you

have more control and heat up

quicker. and if you use it to curl,

    it would be better.
it all depends on the brand and how hot it gets.

it also depends on the plates on it.
No- the longer your hair, the bigger the straightener.

    Skinnies take more time.
Depends on your hair and the straightener! You can never go wrong with a GHD!!! Its the best thing since sliced bread :) Its really amazing but use products for heat style hair!
yes.....by farr. thick ones just, well, are for more thinner hair....cant really describe it. but yes, they are better.
I have a CHI, which I believe is a skinnier one. It works great.
i think if you have thick hair buy the skinny one. think hair buy the thick one
it really just depends on your hair type u just have to try it and see which one you like the best no one can really tell you whats best for u besides yourself ya no
Back then I like the thick ones but now it looks like the newer thin ones works better. (CHI, SEDU, etc)
that instyler they advertise on the tv works
yes the skinny ones r better. get a Chi.
    true...
    depends on the hair

    Revolution Jolie Professional hair straightener?

    Hi

I was wondering if anybody has a pair of these as I want to know if there any good or not. Any reviews would be great. :)Revolution Jolie Professional hair straightener?
I don't have that, but I have one that is really a revolution - Rowenta Ionic. Your hair gets really straight and soft.

My mom won't let me use a hair straightener cuz its supposedly bad, shud i sneak it cuz it makes my hair osum?

I could understand how she thinks it is bad, but it isn't really, when I straighten my hair I use products to help it protect against heat damage, and they really work, my hair is softer, shinier and straight, I use heat protection sprays (Tresemee Iron style and Hold spray, and Salon chic so smooth straightening mist) and they stop your hair from frying. My mom won't let me use a hair straightener cuz its supposedly bad, shud i sneak it cuz it makes my hair osum?
lols. is your hair really different when straightened?? coz i think your mum might notice... then again, they don't always notice. i one put red highlights in my hair and my mum didn't notice till 3 or 4 days later when i pointed it out...then again, i had a hoody on while at home. ; ] but do you think it's worth all the secrecy?? try pursuading you mum to let you get your hair ionic permed. ionic perming is perming, but instead of making your hair curly, it makes it straight. now, ionic straightning CAN be expensive, but it depends on the salon you go to and the length and texture of your hair. i got my hair ionic straightened for around AUD$90 ish in hong kong. it costs around AUD$150 to do it in australia, and it has lasted me over a year. if your looking for a long term solution as opposed to a short term, get an ionic perm. it also saves a lot of time!My mom won't let me use a hair straightener cuz its supposedly bad, shud i sneak it cuz it makes my hair osum?
if you like how it looks then get it... im sure she will get over it eventually
convince her bECAUSE its not bad if you use certain products with it.
I've been using a CHI since 8th grade, and I'm now 22. My hair is NOT damaged because I do not color it, and when I use my straightener I use a good before and after product. I think you should do some research and try to convince your mom that it's not as bad as she thinks as long as you're smart about it.
Same here...I locked my self in the bathroom..and my mom heard the beep from the straightner..and she started banging on the door and shes like ';open the door!'; im like ';uhh mom im doing my buesness lol'; and when i opened the door she saw the straightner and got mad..soo dont sneak..just find a style that is pretty with curly hair..
i guess but she will notice. most moms do.

    Hair straightener recommendation?

I had a SuperStar ceramic straightener for 5 years... it was GREAT! Made my hair smooth and silky (and my hair is very thick and wavy/curly and prone to frizz). Unfortunately, I accidentally fried it on a recent trip (wrong voltage), and I can't find it again to get a new one. Can anyone recommend another (comparable) brand? I'm NOT a fan of the Chi... didn't feel it did as good of a job as my straightener, and it was kind of awkward feeling.Hair straightener recommendation?
    revlon is amazingHair straightener recommendation?
i would recommend fhis or ghds they are brilliant on my hair
Bed head hair straighteners are really really good!
hm, your not a fan of the chi.

okay well then i would try a solia or a ghd.

you can find both on folicia.com

or if those are to much sally beauty supply has a generic version of the chi/solia that works great. i use that one and my hair is silky and smooth and its not fried at all.
Solia works great for me. Chi fried my hair (Chi has no temperature control)
I highly recommend Sedu. I have the same hair type as you and it really works. It works on all hair types and will keep your hair straight for days. Here's a link for before and after pics.
    Hey

Nicky clarke kinder for hair is very good

and its resonaly priced too . ive got them keep my hair straight all day and doesnt singe my hair

also vidal sassoon and tresseme , babyliss and remington are good makes

    http://www.folica.com/SuperStar_Super_d3401.html?s_cid=ntg_000735

    was this it?
Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist use. I've tried many flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
I would definitely recommend ghd straighteners. I've had mine for years and they are just the best - my friends have tried them and reckon that the types they have don't compare at all. They are quite pricey but well worth the money - couldn't manage without mine!
    ghd
    chi straitner

    http://www.folica.com/Chi_Flat_I_317_1.h/a>
Remington Wet 2 Straight but it works better if your hair is Dry.i use mine almost everyday and my hair is really curly and get frizzy easy and quick but it keepes it from frizzing. and works really good.
You can try Paul Brown. http://www.stylebell.com/Paul-Brown-Hawa/a>

They had a problem when they first changed over to a digital thermostat, but I think they have worked all of that out now.

This looks like a great iron. Tourmaline + spring plates + adjustable heat + swivel cord attachment + good reviews = nothing left to want.

    http://www.folica.com/SuperStar_Super_d3/a>
GHD -they're fantastic, but quite expensive.
ya i would use the chi it gets up to 400 degrees i would use somethin so it dosnt fry ur hair
Well any straightner is good now days. Just make sure u get a high voltage kind. Usually the expensive ones are. Try goin to the mall and go to the lil booths that sell them. They let you try them.

    Good Luck

Borrow someone else's or use an iron, you'll need some one to help you with that. I recommend borrowing another hair straightener and use the iron as a last resort.

    Hair straightener for thick hair?

I want a not to expensive hair straightener for thick hair? any suggestions for what type/brand to buy?Hair straightener for thick hair?
Unfortunately the best irons are kind of expensive, like the CHI and the Maxiglide. Some cheaper alternatives would be the Revlon brands of flat irons or Gold N. Hot brands, but make sure whatever iron you get has ceramic plates because those don't really damage your hair and do the best job at straightening.Hair straightener for thick hair?
one will magically appear in your hands if you do a river dance in a pink dress, clap your hands 3 times, spin around twice whilst saying: im the cookie monster and then do a triple backflip and shout: tah-dah!

    it worked for me!!! xx
If you have Sally Beauty Supply shop by you get a Jilbere Straightener(the titanium tools one.)

It gets up to 395 degrees. Just make sure you protect your hair.

I have thick curly hair and it works great for me.
Um for thick hair you should get a fat straightener they

work the best and the fastest i got mine from target

for cheap and it does it wet or dry.
for thick hair the straightner WILL be expensive ...it has to work harder!!!!!

i suggest the CHI!!!!!! IT WORKS AWSOME ON ANY HAIR TYPE
    Remington wet 2 straight.

WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?

i'm going to buy a new hair straightener. it has to be cheap, so i can't a chi or ghd.

ive heard that andis and conair's are pretty cheap at walmart so out of the 2, which one do you think is better for thick hair?? or if not these two, are they any other products that work good but are under $30??WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
Out of the two brands you listed, Andis. I've read VERY good things about it. Conair isn't very good. :/

Other suggestions are Vidal Sassoon, Remington, %26amp; Revlon. I've used all three of those brands %26amp; they worked well for my hair (%26amp;I have thick, curly, kinda frizzy, hard to straighten hair).

Vidal Sassoon: I have the Answers one for coarse hair, but they have a nano one out too. [:

Remington: I own the one with Teflon, which is great for protecting, but its hard to yield sometimes, so I'd advise the brown %26amp; pink one (T-Studio Ceramic + Tourmaline + Titanium), Protect %26amp; Shine, or Shine Therapy. I wouldn't be a fan of a Wet2Straight, but I heard that one is REALLY good.

Revlon: I used the basic Perfect Heat Ceramic one. It advertise ceramic plates %26amp; a lot of heat settings. That worked really well, but they have even better ones, with tourmaline %26amp; such.

Hope I helped %26amp; good luck!WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
I have a Helen of Troy Ceramic Flat Iron, which I ordered on eBay. I absolutely love it!!! I use it 2-3 times a week and I've had it for about six months. It heats very quickly and works great! You can get one for $19.99 on eBay and shipping is free! And it comes in a really pretty teal color and heats up to 430 degrees. See link below:

    Hair straightener stops fly aways?

I am considering using a hair straightener for the first time and am wondering if the straightener conceals split ends and fly away hair ?Hair straightener stops fly aways?
no but try spraying ur hair brush and brush through ur hair((once it is straightened)) and it keeps all the lil fly aways down.Hair straightener stops fly aways?
yea but for a while only. if you over do it your hair will be damage and split ends will be obvious. and your hair will get extra frizzy
If you are trying to conceal split ends, a hair straightener is NOT the way to go. using those type of styling tools damage the hair shaft and actually create split ends. Over time, your hair will look dry and more frizz will arise throughout the day. You will become dependant on multiple hair products such as frizz serum which make the hair look and feel greasy. To deal with fly aways, you should use a light pomade that is not wax based and remember that heat styling is the culprit of split ends.
no not really but you can use pommade and silicone to hide them.. curls help hide split ends.

Are Conair hair straightener any good?

I have one, and it didn't work all that well when i had longer hair, but when i cut my hair- it's chest-length now- it worked really well. i would get a better one if you can, but if you don't want to spend the money, conair works just fine. Are Conair hair straightener any good?
in my experience, conair did not work so well for me. i had a conair straightener and the results were average...i just ordered a GHD hair straightener online and it's a little pricey but it got excellent reviews =]Are Conair hair straightener any good?
They are not the best i would pick badhead even though its alot of money it is good quality!!!
I have the remington wet to straight one. it works awesome! I had to conair ones and they werent that great.
No. Especially if you have Curly hair it makes your hair go very puffy. If you need to straighten a few, it may work.
Ceramic straighteners are much better I have one, and it may be expensive, but they work so well, I have curly hair but after using it I look like I have naturally straight hair!

    The cortex hair straightener?

is it good? because im totally considering getting one.

i was lookin up the reviews online,

and usually half the people said it was great,

and the other half said its horribleThe cortex hair straightener?
Reviews are hard to read, cause everyones opinion is different. But, I think the cortex is a good one. It's ceramic, which is always a plus, and it heats up really fast. The last one I used in the salon was a cortex. Anyways, I hope this helps and good luck. The cortex hair straightener?
Ummm I've never used it, but I have a lot of experience with straighteners. I personnally would not get this iron. It has too many bad reviews and it doesnt even say how it it gets or anything. For that price you can get something better. A hairart H3000 is about $60 and is very good, or if you can afford a bit more you can get a solia or sedu. I wouldnt risk it with this one. Good luck!

Hey I finally found some info on the iron, in this ad:

    http://mississauga.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s/a>

it doesnt seem too bad. I think there are better ones, but it doesnt seem too bad
I don't have a cortex but i have a ceramic one I got over 10 years ago and still going strong. The ceramic is the trick. Don't get it online though. Check out this site for the best prices

Its great, I personally still love my Chi..

But, I bought a cortex for travel because its quite comparable, and the next best thing to a chi.

It also comes in some cute colors toooo! ( I have the purple! )

  • I have curly bangs.and i was wondering how to straighten them without a hair straightener.i heard a cap works.

You can use a blow dryer and a brush. That always helps me when I don't feel like using my flat iron. A cap can work but it might not work the first time depending on how curly your bangs are. I suggest using the blow dryer first and sleeping with the cap on overnight to keep your bangs from curling up again before the next day.

    Hope this helped!

:)I have curly bangs.and i was wondering how to straighten them without a hair straightener.i heard a cap works.
uuh ok. first of all what is a cap? lol and second of all i don't really think you can STRAIGHTEN them without a STRAIGHTENerr. so yaa just get a ceramic one that's pretty cheap especially if you're a guy. get a revlon.I have curly bangs.and i was wondering how to straighten them without a hair straightener.i heard a cap works.
Put somethin in your bangs when their damp and comb them straight untill it drys. it should help. If they look a little curly while their still damp...keep combin them and pretty soon theyll be straight = ]
yup, wet them then keep combing, theyll be swept to the side like, perfectly.

    xD

unless you have bangs bangs.. then you should use a straightener.

I have a chi straightener, and I SWEAR it's probably one of the best Straighteners there is I have tried so many different kinds. They cost about 100 dollars, you can find them at a Cole's Salon (i think) or at a trade secret I know they have them there before, and If i am not mistaken they have a life time warranty too... They also can curl your hair because the plates move and can even spiral curl your hair as well VERY COOL!!! below is a site where you can get them for actually cheaper...

    GOOD LUCK!!!What's a good hair straightener? ?
GVP hair straighteners work very well. I have thick curly hair, and I use my GVP straightener. Your hair becomes straight after only one stroke! It's an amazing product. It also makes your hair very soft and shiny and doesn't really seem to damage it.

Don't buy a chi because there are no temperature dial and they break really easily.
Okay, I have a Sedu, and I also have very thick hair. I bought it from folica.com and it was $115. Sedus work great! Also, for the same price, you could try a GHD, Solia, or a Chi. I'll post a picture of the Sedu for you.
http://www.myhairstylingtools.com/ the first one works very good, i have to straighten my grandmas hair all the time and it works very well and it doesnt make your hair start to smoke. 99$ cant blow off!
A good straightener would be a Chi straightener i have really thick hair to and it works like magic on my hair.
ummm i'm not sure how much it is but a chi is amazing. Some places i've seen them sold for around 150$. They are amazing and leave your hair feeling and looking amazing!
get a CHI. it's a really good straightener, i got mine for about $100. it straightens your hair with ions instead of frying it.
the chi hair straightener its kinda cheap and it works wonders

    good luck :)
GHD, they are really good. But it depends where your from the price will variy alot

i really need this for school any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!Does anyone know a website where i can find plans to make a hair straightener?please help im desperate!!?
Unless you are some type of engineer, I highly doubt that this is even achievable. I'm not sure if you just want your hair straight or if a teacher at your school has asked you to make one (which would be outrageous).

If you are just looking to straighten your hair (w/o purchasing a ceramic straightener), I had a couple of girlfriends in the past that would heat up an actual iron and use that. One would put it on a low setting and simply iron her hair as if it were a shirt. The other would put it on a high setting and place a towel on top of her hair and then iron it (probably a better method). If I were you though, I would shell out the ten bucks and just buy one if you plan to straighten your hair more than once.Does anyone know a website where i can find plans to make a hair straightener?please help im desperate!!?
Go to a beauty saloon. They can straighten it for you. I get mine done about once a month it feels good to go from curlys to straight :) Or you can purchase a straightening iron from most stores(Ex walmart target) and most drug stores.
    I suggest googling it =)

    ConairWhat's a good hair straightener?
CHI's will FRY your hair if you have thin or fine hair, since they have one fixed temperature and its REALLY REALLY hot. ALWAYS get a flat iron with an adjustable temperature. Try a GVP. They sell them at Sally's Beauty Supply. It's cheaper than CHI, and does pretty much the same thing.

I got one, it works like magic. Just make sure your straightening technique is good, cuz if you don't know HOW to straighten your hair properly, then it doesn't matter if you get a 500 dollar straightener; it's gonna look like ****.

    Good luck.

When you're buying your straighter, look for these things :

    Adjustable temperature.

    Swivel cord.

100% FULL ceramic plates (not just coated like Conair is)

1 inch plates (You can get a bigger one, or smaller, but 1 inches are the best)

Good ratings.(Search up on the internet to see if other have had success with the flat iron)
I have the Wet-To-Straight one, And i Personally Don't like it! Hmm, I Prefer either A CHI Straightener or the Bedhead Straightener. The CHI Straightener really Get's your Hair Straight, and the Bedhead one Can Curl, Straighten %26amp; More!

What is a good hair straightener to use?

CERAMIC!!!! It distributes heat more evenly and it is the only one I will ever use again! I use one by Conair ($25). It has 25 heat settings. Since my hair never straightens on ';high'; or ';10'; with other straighteners, that is a big help. Oh, and I also use Sleek Look by Matrix shampoo and conditioner and I am addicted. This stuff is a little pricey though ($20 per bottle) but soooo worth it! I actually paid $25 for a pair of liter size bottles on special at a salon. What is a good hair straightener to use?

Ummm not sure what its called i think you call it wet to straight and its located in any CVS anyway you wash your hair put conditioner in it you know wash the conditioner out then when your hair is still WET *(i think this is awsome)* You use the striaghtener and it drys it and straightens it at the same time one less thing to do after you take a shower!! Hope this helps
frizz ease hair product..located any you local CVS..Traget etc..
Had a cheap ceramic Revlon straightener to begin with but it fried my hair. Have since replaced it with another ceramic straightener purchased at Sally Beauty Supply. It works great!! I looked for the brand name on it but all it says on the handle is ';Porcelain series';. This one runs very hot so I don't have to use on high setting to get the results I want.
i use a conair gold ceramic straightener. it works very well and it has 0-25 heat settings so you can choose how hot you want it. it wasnt expensive either. i bought it a little while ago, it wasnt more than $25-$30. use straightening cream before you straighten it though! or else your hair will get damaged. good luck! =]
I have one from Walmart called Wet to Straight. It is a flat iron you can use when your hair is wet or dry. It worked great for me.
If you mean appliance, try Chi ceramic. You can buy this from ebay for 1/2 the price in retail stores. Also, use VO5 heat protection before your apply the straightener. This will make your hair silky.
    Try this site.
how much r u willing to spend...cuz the CHI is a really good one....but its kinda pricy
    I use titanium tools.

Check out Sally Beauty Supply. The good ones are around $50. but they're cheaper than most places.
frizz ease is good for straightening your hair as well as frizzy hair. Bur the best is to invest in a straightening iron - it works miracles........all of them work pretty good but the prcelin one is the best...........You can get them any were and it straightens in sec. Try Target or Sally's

Get a CHI...it heats up very quickly and takes very little time to use. You will love it! I've had mine for 5 years +What's the best hair straightener?
I love this one, I've used it for over a year and it still works as great as the day I got it:

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1/a>
The best one is the CHI one.

    Check out - http://www.besthairstraighteners.info/
it all depends how much u want to spend on the straitener

at Sephora they have the best 1's and they work and it only takes about 25 min if you have wavy/curly hair like me.. also dont but the straiteners they sell at drug stores (the $20 1's) they r just heavy and crap

so yeah just go to sephora and ask 4 there latest straitener : )
CHI makes your hair really straight, and prevents frizz really well. You can get CHI almost anywhere: JcPenney's, etc. Also, you can go online and check if they sell CHI anywhere (I got mine from JcPenney's). It's kind of expensive (the one I bought was $100), but it's definitely worth it. Also, you should try a regular, less expensive straightener first, and see if that works for you. Almost all hair straighteners are pretty good. Walmart sells them.
the best thing that i use is baby oil in my hair and a flate iron just put baby oil in you hair not alot (not to greasey). and flate iron your hair. (section by section)
    Okay.

    I'm going to disagree.

Because after reading 100 results on each %26amp; reviews.

CHI's are said to break and the cords might mess up.

Sedu's however, don't break straighten really well. And they were also featured as best straightener in Allure Magazine.

Although, Not the same thing happens for everyone.

    Good luck!

    CHI hair straightner works best.
everyone will agree... a chi is the best. it's also a good idea to buy chi hair products like iron guard spray to protect your hair.
    Conair

Which hair straightener is better -- the Sedu or the Chi?

I upgrading my Remington Wet 2 Straight and getting one of the higher-end straighteners. I wanted a GHD, but they are $195 and that's a bit too much for me. The $90 - $125 for the CHI or Sedu are much more within my price range (source: Folica.com). So, which do you prefer -- Sedu or CHI?Which hair straightener is better -- the Sedu or the Chi?
I like the Chi more but Sedu probably won't be wrong for you either.Which hair straightener is better -- the Sedu or the Chi?
CHI is awesome! If you want it to stay straight in humitity Matrix Sleek Look has good products for that.
CHI, that's all my stylist uses and it is great, your hair will be so silky.
CHI I use them at the salon all day long and my clients love them. They get the toughest hair striaght!!! No joke
The chi is much better in my opinion!
    CHI
Neither...if you want a really good straightener get this...it works wonders if your hair is wet or dry....its AMAZING!

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh/a>
try Maxiglide by maxius. It is awesome and you'll look like you stepped out of the salon!

    http://www.maxiusbeauty.com/
    I have the Sedu..and it's wonderful!

It takes little time to heat up! and it makes your hair perfectly straight even with high humidity outside
My friend has the sedu and she said it was better! I have the Solia however....
    CHI
Chi is amazing! it doesn't really hold up in humitidy, though. if you want one that holds up in the humidity, then surprisingly enough get a vidal sassoon straightener (only $20!), it works just the same as the Chi, but for less and protection from humidity.
Neither!! Every time you use a straightener you do irreversable damage to your hair. The heat boils the moisture in the hair shaft, causing it to bubble, split and break.

Split ends, white dots and breakage. Dry, ravaged, straw-like hair. What's beautiful about that?
I use Chi, for me its the best product there is. My hairdresser uses it too. The hair stay straight for 3 days until I wash my hair. I try not to wash my hair for as long as I can but I shower everyday. When you do shower use hair clip so your hair dont get wet
honey take it from a hairdresser invest in a chi straightener , I have had mine for 5 years , that the only head of hair you are ever going to have take care of it invest you hair will love it good luck honey and 2 snaps up with a twist %26amp; a kiss to chi...
I have Remington wet2straight too and i wanted to upgrade. I thought chi is great cuz thats what most of the salon were using but my friend told me she had two and she always have problem bout the cord. I wanted to buy chi but base on the reviews online chi is not really reliable. So i order sedu online and i think its a good one as what i've read but never tried it yet cuz its on shipping

Which hair straightener is better? (Read detail)?

Which is a better hair straightener? Conair Wet and Dry Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener or the Chi Wet to Dry Hair Straightener.

I really want a good one because i have really thick, frizzy, curly/wavy hair and my waves/curls are really strong and hard to straighten.Which hair straightener is better? (Read detail)?
the Chi is better, but in my opinion my Paul Simon hair straightener is really nice cuz the temperature can be changed on it from 300 to 400 so it doesnt have to be on 400 every time. Make sure you dont use it too much becuase it will wreak havoic on your hair and make it fall out and break. The heat damage really stinks. I have a friend that uses a chi everyday and her hair looks terrible in the winter because its so frizzy and broken from the heat damageWhich hair straightener is better? (Read detail)?
Okay, I know this is going to sound absolutely CRAZY!!!!! BUT it really works! My hairdresser taught me this.....Okay, after you wash your hair, completely dry it!!! THen here is the crazy part! Turn the hairdryer around and take the vent part and lightly touch it at the top of your head and pull it against your hair all the way down. It will suction it up against the back of the hair dryer....be careful not to suck your hair into it though...You have to do it just right. This will take out some of the frizzyness/static...then straighten whatever is left, but with my hair it most of the time does the trick completely...but I don't know how frizzy your hair is though.... GOOD LUCK..and I use the wet to dry hair straightener...it works fine. BUt I would get the gold plate not silver! They always work better!
I would say the Chi. Stay away from Conair and other drugstore brands because they probably won't work for your hair. The Chi works on curly hair. The Conair will probably just burn and fry your hair and make it even frizzier, but the Chi will actually get it straight.
CHI is the better than the others on your list.

CHI hair straightener can take care your hair. So go for it.

    http://hairstraightenersiron.com/chihair/a>
i have a conair like that one. I dont like it and i have a regular chi. i say get the chi.
I used to work at Bed Bath and Beyond, and the Chi is defiantly the best, but it is very expensive. It runs about $100. But it is the best out of the 3 you listed.
The CHI one works the best. My friend had a conair one and it didn't work very well so I bought a CHI and I love it
I would say the Chi is better. I think the Sedu are the best though. They are expensive but worth it!
i recommend the chi, but i've never tried using that particular conair.
honestly let your curls free themselves. just put a little john frieda in your hair to soothe the frizz.

    straight hair is so overrated
i would say chi is better

    Great Hair straightener Brands?

Any good hair straghtener brands? That really work and are under $100. ALso they acnnot make my hair look like fried or really flat and straightened. And they cannot take like 1 hour.

    THanks,

    misspositive15 :)

P.S. So my hair would be the straghteniss of Kristen Stewarts natural hair.Great Hair straightener Brands?
okay u should soooo get the CHI ! its awesome . u should use heat protecting spray ! and possibly inti frizz it helps soooo much! my hair looks fried and then i put anti friss and vwalla!! perfect!! teehee GOOD LUCK!!Great Hair straightener Brands?
for under 100 dollars, the Solia is probably your best option.

it runs just about 80 dollars, and it gives you the same results as those irons that run for 200 and up. They're solid ceramic, so your hair won't be frizzy/fried, and in conjunction with a heat protectant spray, your hair should stay healthy for a pretty long time:

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1/a>

another very popular iron under 100 is the original chi. They're pretty decent irons, but depending on the texture of your hair, it can fry it after a while:

    http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d2/a>

with any flat iron, no matter how much money, you want to deep condition your hair at least once a month, and use a heat protectant and a leave in conditioner to prevent the heat from getting directly to your hair.

i like the BEYOND THE ZONE line avaliable at Sally's, but tresemme, Garnier, Vo5 and CHI also makes lines for heat styling:

    Heat spray:

    Leave in Conditioner:

i use Paul Mitchell and i love it ! but i dont know how much it cost. i guess u'll have to google it(: but u can always get cheap nonused ones on ebay

Mayonnaise. Really! Try it. Put it in your hair for at least an hour. Wash well and you will have the softest hair around. I bet all the other people recommend an expensive chemical or conditioner. Yuck...that stuff soaks into your scalp.
I do believe that oils are better moisturisers than many regular polymer-based leave-in conditioners because polymers are plastics that, when subjected to hot styling tools, melt onto the hair and cause damage so i suggest u use 100% coconut oil
I've also heard that mayonnaise is good for your hair. this girl that sits next to me in class said she does it, and her hair is very shiny. Try it. What do you have to lose?
Your hairdresser should have recommended a good shampoo and conditioner for you when they did the straightener. You need to be doing Deep Conditioning at least 1 x per wk. if not more and for some shine use Biosilk.

did you know ghd'sare meant to have a lifetime guarantee? i guess youll need some proof of purchase. they may also be repairable, i would recommend you contact the company for advice, cos you will probably not get anythin else as good as them.
I reccomend TS Salon S hine Diamond Straightener!

This brand is good I have been using it a lot and it is awesome!
i have a Remington wet and dry straightener and it works well. it was only $30 and it has different temperature modes so you can adjust it.
go to sally...they have good ones there..and not all are that expensive
maybe a conair. i have one and it works pretty well.

Which hair straightener is good for hair?

no matter what brand you get, how much it costs, the ratings, etc the straightner will still damage your hair due to the fact you are applying high amounts of heat! Never the less some are better than others. GHD is a great brand of flat irons and really quality altough i do not have one My hairdresser does and it is truley amazing! I really really recommend it! I loved it i might get one in the future, altough i already have a very good one called an Avanti i believe i they are $70 for it and its a great price worth every pennyWhich hair straightener is good for hair?
Definately the Chi, but it's a little on the expensive side. i also have the Remington Wet to Straight, which can straighten your hair while it's wet. But make sure to get a heat protectant so you don't burn your hair. (you can get those at local grocery store or pharmacy )Which hair straightener is good for hair?
i do know any brands but you should go to sally's beauty supply and they can help you out there. that's where i bought mine and it's the best i ever had.

Dont waste æ‹¢100 on GHD's, i recently brought the babyliss Pro 230 Elegance Hair Straighteners and they are amazing.
GHGs cuz u only need 2 go over ur hair once with them and its already dead straight. most others, u need 2 go over ur hair lots of times b4 its straight. GHGs r really xpensive though.
i have remington wet to straight but i only use it when it's dry. my friend has chi but it's expensive
    I say Chi as well.
i love revaltion or however you spell it.. its the BEST
None! They all frazzle your hair. I'd get some heat protection spray, maybe Tresemme that's good.
    GHD!

  • Is a babyliss hair straightener better than a chi?

Chi is better they are the original inventors of the ceramic hair straightener and more widely prefered in the salon industry. For home use either will work well.Is a babyliss hair straightener better than a chi?
    look at this...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?/a>Is a babyliss hair straightener better than a chi?
i have a chi, its really nice, mine is blue and it heats up in like six seconds.
well i like them both but i like chi waaaaaaaaaay better.
no, babyliss doesn't work on all kinds of hair. but the chi does (:

Is my CHI hair straightener authentic?

My hasband bought me a Chi from Target for $130. I read somewhere that the real Chi has a 3 prong plug, but mine only has the regular 2. It also has GLOBAL BEAUTY NETWORK, INC. writting on the top. How can I tell if it is real?Is my CHI hair straightener authentic?
Where did you read that the real chi has a 3 prong plug? i have the same one that says global beauty network, and all my friends have it too. i think its the real one because my hairdresser has a chi and said its really good quality.

DId your Sedu hair straightener break easily??

I've had my Sedu flat iron for about 6 weeks, and it's already broken! I haven't dropped it at all, it just simply stopped heating up. I got it off folica, so it's the real thing. I haven't read any bad reviews on the product, perhaps mine was just a fluke??DId your Sedu hair straightener break easily??
It's a fluke. I've had my 1 1/2'; for almost 2 years now, no problems. I bought a 1'; too when it went on sale, and still going strong. This usually never happens to Sedu irons! Since you're past your 30 days, return it to folica and exchange it for another (you will have to pay shipping...and possibly a restocking fee but ask a representative and see if she can work with you on this.) Sorry this happened to you. Sedu is a really good iron.. this really surprises me that yours stopped working this easily.DId your Sedu hair straightener break easily??
Yours was probably a fluke. BUT I actually had a Sedu for a year, and the cord got messed up because I didn't put it away properly (way too careless). Now I've had this one for like 2 years, and not a problem. It's most definitely a fluke. I got another one for free, the wait just sucks because I didn't have another good straightener :(.
i got mine from the same place and its fine..

could it be you lowered the heat? At first i scared myself when i lowered the heat because it turns off until it cools down.

or did you press one of the buttons on the plug?

send it back they will refund it.

Need a new hair straightener. what one should i get?

lots of ppl use the Chi, is it worth the money?

what about the Chi's that let you use it on wet hair? how do they work?

any advise please!!! :)Need a new hair straightener. what one should i get?
I use a CHI and it's working great for me [I have super thick curly curly hair]!

well, it's ceramic and mine only goes to one temperature. the temperature that is enough to straighten but not enough to fry your hair, so that's really good.

I use mine when my hair is dry, only because you get a lot more damage when you straighten your hair wet, so i wouldn't know.Need a new hair straightener. what one should i get?
chis are deff worth it. get a 1/2'; so it can curl ur hair as well. you can use it on slightly damp hair, but not soaked hair.

    they work really well.

amika hair straighteners work really well, there is a kiosk in the local mall that has them, i go there and they work sooo well they are amazing!!
the chi seriously sucks. get a ghd. and please dont iron your hair when its wet thats horrible.
chi works great, but its really expensive so if you wont use it all the time buy a less expensive one
infiniti by conair, works realli good

u could get it at costco
i have one from rusk, ive had it for 3 years and it works great.

    GHD vs DIVA hair straightener?

The GHD hair straightners and DIVA hair straightners look exactly alike, but are the plates the same? Would you reccomend them?GHD vs DIVA hair straightener?
GHD's are suppose to be the Best of the Best. I have never heard of DIVA . If you have the money to spend then I would go with the GHD but I have a Sedu and it works wonderful....Here is the site that has most all brands of flat irons on it and customer reviews as well ....

Good LuckGHD vs DIVA hair straightener?
According to the hair salon supply store where I bought mine (and they stock all the main brands, including GHD and Diva), GHD and Diva are the same straightener, made in the same factory - just by different companies. Based on this, I bought a Diva and it is brilliant on my thick, wiry, curly hair

GHD!!! The best money can buy!!

I need a hair straightener. wat should i get?

i have thick black hair which is kinda wavy. i need a straightener that doesnt dry the hair, and is under $100. do u have any ideas on wat i should get?I need a hair straightener. wat should i get?
Babyliss ones I know it sounds like a crappy brand but I have reallll tight wirey curls and ghds and all that jazz dont work on my hair!

Babyliss are amazing I use them and I am a celeb stylist!

they only cost $50 but I ordered mine from the uk google around or something gl xI need a hair straightener. wat should i get?
The bed head straightener is only around $75 (which I think is still a lot!). But I got a great straightener that has a build in blow dryer, for about $30 at Rite Aid. I love it, it works great on my very wavy thick hair, and it goes up to 395 degrees, so it straightens fast, and even the worst of curls/waves!
I have thick naturally curly/wavey hair. I bought a ceramic Babyliss Pro from a salon. On sale it was $110can. It's worked great for the 4 years I've had it and you can adjust the heat settings for the days you feel you want soft/full looking hair or the days you want super duper stight shinny hair- - - don't bother with drung store ones. They are not even close to good.

Another tip is if you buy a thin plated one, it can double as a curler to flip the ends out or in - saves time
i have a wigo by helen of troy... its a pretty good brand, and its only about 40 bucks or so.. you say your hair is thick so you would probably want to get the bigger ones. not the little half inch ones.. they work just as good but they dont hold as much hair at once. it just takes longer. or sometimes you can get luck and find a chi on sale.

iv been told by the girl that works at ulta that you probably want a ceremic one, and not to set it to high or it will fry your hair.
omg, my hair is extremely thick. u shud my the ';wet to straight Remington'; its great. u can use it when ur hair is wet, damp, or dry. It has steam holes in it to let out the steam so ur hair doesnt dry or burn. it makes my hair PIN STRAIGHT (and mine is curly too) it works on ALL hairtypes and has a color coded chart that tells u what heat setting is best fr ur hair type. it doesnt even frizz. my hair is now sooo smooth,i get out the shower, towel dry the excess water then straighten, no blow dry nessesary. and BEST OF ALL IT WAS ONLY $20. hope i helped!
I have very thick curly hair and will not leave the house until I straighten it.

I use a Revlon straightener with ceramic plates. It only cost $19.99 and I've had it for almost 3 years and use it almost everyday.
I have very thick curly-ish hair, and I use a solia. It works really great and it's $88 from folica.com. They also give a free heat pad with your straightener.

    GHD or babyliss

i have GHD the older versions are cheaper and you cant get them for like $20 on ebay!

i have thick curly hairWhats the best hair straightener for the best price?
I like my Remmington Wet 2 Straight (which is what I think someone earlier mentioned) because it was only around $20 or $30 and it's lasted me for 3 years so far. (and I drop it a lot :) I also like that the temperature is adjustable. Another good one is the Solia because it doesn't damage your hair much, but it's around $80 or $90 and that's pretty expensive. Plus you can only buy it online. It also has an adjustable temperature. If you really want straight hair, you may consider having it chemically straightened at a salon because although it's expensive, it lasts a long time. Hope I helped! :)Whats the best hair straightener for the best price?
the . . . something with an R Wet 2 Straight. It works really great, I think. :)

Buying a good hair straightener... Help! Please!?

I'm looking for a good hair straightener. I have a Remington Slim Wet2Straight at the moment, but it takes so long to straighten my hair and it gives my hair split ends. I don't want to pay to much for a new one. Help, anyone?Buying a good hair straightener... Help! Please!?
use the Chi it works WONDERS :) some people selling other hair straighteners will try to tell you otherwise but dont listen, they are just scared of the competition.Buying a good hair straightener... Help! Please!?
The best ones are usually expensive, and i noticed from france.

I would just go to SAlly's Beauty Supply, or Ulta,

and ask someone working, maybe even your hair dresser,

on advice of a new flat iron. %26amp; most all flat irons give split

ends, so use an after conditioner.
Oh gosh. NEVER USE A WET TO DRY STRAIGHTENER. Most of them tend to damage your hair. It's safe to say that you should just blow dry it as straight as you can first then look for a ceramic straightener that will touch things up. Go to Wal-Mart. That's where I got mine and it costed 12(?) bucks? And I have thick wavy hair too. I don't really use mine much because my waves are very controlled and need much work.
Chi is good but very expensive. It usually falls around the $100's.. And the straightener that I have is the Bed Head Rockstar and its really amazing.. And it's only $60.. So I suggest you get the Bed Head one. You could order it online or find it at Target and other places. Good luck. =]
i have very curly hair and i hate using hair straighteners that damage my hair. i use straighteners that are ceramic. if you go to any store like wal-mart or target im sure they have semi-cheap ones that are really good. just make sure it has the word ceramic in it
The Chii. Yes, though expensive, it will straighten your hair like a dream, straightens it quickly, makes it soft and shiny, and it's a good investment in looking awesome.
Even though Chi straighteners can be expensive they are worth it. Just go to a Ulta near year an get one they have some with cute designs or just plain black.

    Good luck finding one :)
Straighteners that are expensive are usually really good straighteners. the CHI is a great straightener
Chi forget all the long ones get a chi or a cheepy chi 20$ I've seen way cheep

Im using a hair straightener for the 1st time...?

should i be using anything to my hair b4 i start straightening? i mean serum or anything? whats happens if i dont use anything?Im using a hair straightener for the 1st time...?
u dont have to use anything on ur hair before u straighten it but if u dont take care of ur hair and u straighten like almost every day u will get alot of dead or split ends!!!!! ewww nasty soooooo use hair straighten cream like something that is like and says won burn or ruin hair when using an hair straightener!!!!!!!!!Im using a hair straightener for the 1st time...?
Yes, I would agree that a pure silicone like Simply Stylin' would be perfect. Applying a flat iron directly to your hair without any protection is dangerous for the hair. And Simply Stylin' works better than most products I've used.
i straighten my hair all the time...i don't put anything in my hair b4 striaghten it...if u put gel or anything n it it will be hard to striaghten
NO you want your hair to be 100% dry. If its not then you can really hurt your hair. You'll fry it to death.
Are you chemically straighteneing, blow drying, flat iron straightening?
no u dont have to use anything just start straitening, make sure your hairs not wet though
Well my advice would be to test it in a spot before using it all over Ur hair in a spot that would not be noticed if it were to fall out. Just put in on a couple of strains of hair first to see how Ur hair will react to such a chemical. If it seems fine does not get brittle and break off i would proceed.
its fine if u dont use anything on them cos its your first time but it is better if u put some sort of serum on your hair before because otherwise it will get very dry

    x
for first time you dont have to, but the more you use it the more you will damage your hair this is why if you will become a regular user you should use serum
PUT IN SOME LEAVE-IN-CONDITIONER BEFORE U START STRAIGHTENING , SO IT PROTECTS UR HAIR!!

    MAKE SURE UR HAIR IS NOT WET OR DAMP THO LIKE FROM WATER...THAT ONLY CAUSES UR HAIR TO ';FRY';

SO PROTECT IT WITH THE LEAVE-IN-CONDITIONER!!

that way ur hair will be shiney and healthy looking afterwards
Try not to use any quemicals, it will burn your hair. Try anti frizz shampoo, good amount of conditioner and blow dry it and use a ceramic iron to make it flat. I heard about a ';chocolate treatment'; that some saloons do, it's cheaper than the japanese one.

And if you already put quemicals on your hair, then mix a bowl with conditioner apply on your hair and cover with a plastic shower cap, you can warm up the surface of the cap with a hair dryer, so the lets call ';pores'; of your hair will open and absorb the conditioner, most likely quemicals dry your hair and by warming up your head and open your pores it will be like appliyng moisturizer on your face.
Yes! You have to use a heat protectant on your hair or it may burn. Most heat protectants are made from silicone, so just use a bit of that to coat the hair and protect it.

Be wary of products that contain a lot of added fillers, though. You may not want them in your hair. I recommend Simply Stylin' because it's made of pure silicone and doesn't have any fillers. Performs great at protecting the hair and adds a really nice shine, too. They give out free samples on their website www.simplystylinhair.com.
Nah, you don't have to use anything. I haven't ever and it's ok. I guess it's all about personal preference.

Try the two different options and find out which one works for you :o)

I would suggest to put something on your hair like a leave in conditioner after you are finished.
Yes! You always need to put some protectant straightening blam before. Not serum. I suggest JOICO straightening balm or CHI shine infusion thermal active. If you don't use anything it will be bad for your hair and it will get more damaged.
well you should use a heat protectant cream before you start straightening your hair

it preotects your hair from the heat damage

it keeps your hair straight and smoother

    try loreal heat protecting serum

    it costs about 5 dollars

What kind of hair straightener is this?

What kind of hair straightener is this?
It's a CHI. By FaroukWhat kind of hair straightener is this?
I turned my computer upside down and zoomed in. I'm pretty sure it says ';Global Beauty Professional'; but I could be wrong.

    http://blog.buffalostate.edu/fashion/mer/a>

I looked it up and I guess global beauty is made by CHI, since it says both names on it.
    Global Something..

    i think global beauty.

    deffinatly not a CHI because

on the plates, it says the brand/company.

and CHI's usually dont have writing [i think] on the plates.

    Vidal Sasoon.

You can read it right on the straightener.

    Hair straightener?

I am half black/white and have long curly hair. I have blonde highlights. When i straighten my hair it gets straight but still stays sort of frizzy and i don;t know how to keep it straight for long enough.Hair straightener?
Either get it relaxed or don't wash it for a few days. How often do you wash it. Do you use a thermal spray or products before straightening. Do use you a finishing serum.

    Toodles!Hair straightener?
Use the Maxiglide iron from Bed, Bath, %26amp; Beyond or Linens N' Things with No Frizz hair serum (blue packaging, NOT Frizz Ease). I have super curly hair and no one knows. And your hair will not frizz in humidity or other moisture (beach, rain, etc.) I have recommended it to 15 of my friends and everyone loves it.
well you should probably get a chi strightener and maybe use a lttle bit of hair spray to keep it perfect.

    :]
Firstly you need a good pair of straighners such as ghd after straighning wear a beannie hat to help keep hair flat and avoid rain and humid areas such as bathrooms
go to a domenican (i hope i spelled that right). they can straighten your hair with/ or without a relaxer. it's your choice.

What they do is, wash your hair, put conditioner in it, wash that out, roll your hair (WITH GIGANTIC rollers) and sit you under a hot dryer. after that, they take out the rollers, and blow your hair out with a hand dryer. They do a great job. they don't charge a lot. they charge like 25. my cousin in new york took me when i was up there in the city, and they charge as little as 10.

my hair is naturally straight, but i still go to them. my hair usually last for at least two weeks. whatever you do, don't flat iron.
u could use a cream i forgot wut its called but u could get it from a store. It helps ur hair 2 become super straight. Or u could relex ur hair it keeps it straight 4 about 6 months. I hope this helped u.

Do you know of a hair straightener at the mall that costs $140?

My Dad told me he got me a hair straightener for Christmas at the Mall. He said it was $140. He doesn't remember what it was called and I want to look it up on youtube and see how it works. Maybe the Corioliss Iron.Do you know of a hair straightener at the mall that costs $140?
I'm not sure, but hopefully it's not the instyler as there are quite a few negative posts at http://www.ripoffreport.com and http://www.pissedconsumer.com and can type into search at each site.

Please just try to wait until Christmas morning before thinking about which item it is :) Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and a Happy (and healthy) New Year.
I've heard of a few that cost that much at the Baybrook mall.

Maybe what you're looking for is the Amika, Sedu, or Chi. I think it may be Amika though. Unless he got you one of those really good working Chi's. (: Good luck and i hope you enjoy your present!
