and usually half the people said it was great,

Reviews are hard to read, cause everyones opinion is different. But, I think the cortex is a good one. It's ceramic, which is always a plus, and it heats up really fast. The last one I used in the salon was a cortex. Anyways, I hope this helps and good luck.The cortex hair straightener?
Ummm I've never used it, but I have a lot of experience with straighteners. I personnally would not get this iron. It has too many bad reviews and it doesnt even say how it it gets or anything. For that price you can get something better. A hairart H3000 is about $60 and is very good, or if you can afford a bit more you can get a solia or sedu. I wouldnt risk it with this one. Good luck!

I don't have a cortex but i have a ceramic one I got over 10 years ago and still going strong. The ceramic is the trick. Don't get it online though. Check out this site for the best prices
Its great, I personally still love my Chi..
But, I bought a cortex for travel because its quite comparable, and the next best thing to a chi.
It also comes in some cute colors toooo! ( I have the purple! )
