first of all, no matter what flat iron you get it will eventually damge your hair or burn it if it at a setting that is too hot. This is why you should always use a heat protectant to help protect your hair. As far as flat irons go, solia, sedu, and ghd are good i got mine from http://www.folica.com they have review on all of these as well as free shipping and warranty's, i did have a chi but i hated it, it never straightend my hair how i wanted it and it broke after 5 months.
