I just got a hair straightener... do i do it with my hair wet or dry?

Ive never used one before.... does your hair have to be dry? or can i do it wet?I just got a hair straightener... do i do it with my hair wet or dry?
Your hair should be dry when straightening it, unless you have a certain flat iron that allows you to straighten it on wet hair. Remember to use a heat protectant before applying heat to your hair also!I just got a hair straightener... do i do it with my hair wet or dry?
Your hair will always get damaged no matter what. Its safer to use it when your hair is dry because it damages your hair more when it is wet. I also recommend a type of gel that is sold only in hair salons that protects your hair from the straightener. It helps your ends stay nice and healthy. You apply it before and after you are done straightening your hair, and it isn't expensive what so ever.

Hope this helps :D
it depends on the hair straightener. some of them are made to be used only on dry hair, but now they are making some that can be used on both. it would say on the package if you could use it on wet hair though so to be on they safe side, only use it when your hair is dry or it can really damage your hair.
it depends on what kind of hair straightener you have.

if you have a wet n' dry......you can straighten your hair wet......

but i suggest you straigten your hair when its dry for best results...

if its wet....it might fry your hair xP

yup for best results use it when your hair is dry :)

hope this helps!
DRY! even if it is wet-dry(they do sell those) DRY! doing it wet will fry your hair, and then you wont have any hair left, that or it'll electricute you and you'll die :(

DDDRRRYYY!!!!!!!!!
dry dry dry trust me with my first time with a straightener i tried it with wet it was HORRiBLE and...straighten ur hair after a shower when your hair is completely dry its best 2 dry it when its clean
your hair needs to be totally dry unless the straightener specifically says for wet/dry hair

i always use a heat protectent on my hair before straightening to avoid damage and split ends
dry!

it will steam and make your hair frizzy if you do it wet..

and before straightening try a thermal protectant

like CHI's 44 iron gaurd pricey but worth it.
Unless it specifically says it can used with wet hair, wait until your hair is completely dry.
Dry! If you do it wet then it will burn your hair and it may fall off.
unless its a wet dry straightener, it has to be dry or else it completely frys your hair
Wait until your hair is dry. It'll get really damaged wet.
dry!!!!
