Run just a dime sized dollop of finishing cream in your hair about 15 minutes before you're about to flat iron. This way the cream has time to penetrate your hair and won't be damp enough to steam.

oh my gosh..i had the same exact problem!!! i bought a spray bottle of herbal essences called danngerously straight and you spray it on after you straighten your hair and it works so good!:]]
dont straighten it 2 long good luck
