Will my U.S. hair straightener work in singapore?

If I get a converter will it still not work. Same goes for my curling iron and my blow dryer? Will my U.S. hair straightener work in singapore?
If you use the power converter it will. However the risk of it blowing up still remains. Give it a shot though. The Remington travel converters are $19.99 at any Radio Shack or Electronics good store.

All the best.

For small appliance * Iron/hair dryer * you can use Power Step drown Transformer ( AC - 230 V to AC 110 V Converter ) But is not advice for other electric items, like Oven. cooker ..because such big items drown high Amp , you costs for converter is very high and not safety. For hair Straightener / iron, you need to buy the Converter work for 15 Amp.any converter work less than 15 Amp, will case over heat and damage after 15 min use ! Check with the shop about this before you buy .if you get the converter in USA, you need to buy an Multi AC plug Adapter ,because USA is use NEMA - 1-15 and 5-15 type of Socket, and Singapore is British type standards BS-1363 . is very easy for you to get the Multi plug Adapter in Singapore as about SGD 8.oo . and a 15 Amp AC 230-110 V converter costs about SGD 50-60 .***** Consider , Electric/Electronics items if free of import Tax in Singapore ( 7% sales Tax) , New hair straightener is from SGD 60.oo hair dryer is from SGD 15.oo , depend of maker/brand.
Things that have to heat up are really hard on converters. Last year when I was in France, my straightener started smoking. But blow dryers will still work.
no. the government will find you. the government will find you..
