My hair takes around two hours to straighten. It's such a hassle because in the morning when I straighten it's mega poof and really hard to keep flat. Is there any kind of Straightener that reduces poof and can straighten it very well? Im talking about like super straight?
And I have lots of layers so that's what makes it more difficult because I take a good 2 to 2 1/2 hours to make it flat.Hair Straightener for VERY VERY THICK hair?
you are very lucky that you have very very thick hair....You can wet your hair and then try to straight it.you will find more easier and it takes less time than previous. You can use jell to flat your hair.Hair Straightener for VERY VERY THICK hair?
GHD, there is no better investment for your hair! Just ask for a demo in your local salon or store and you will never ever look back! I can't rave about it enough. If you have difficult hair, it will change your life (I know that sounds melodramatic, but anyone who struggles with their hair for hours on end will understand the joy this straightener brings!).
The latest range offers a straightener with wider plates, so you can get more hair done in each section. Time saver!!! You've got to love it!
Invest in a good smoothing serum too, as it seals the 'straight' in nicely and gives you plenty of shine. My fave is Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide. A little bit goes a long way, which is what you want when you have loads of hair!! I use it before and after I straighten, to really get my hair under control.
The beauty of getting a GHD as compared to getting a salon straightening treatment is that you can change your look all the time. You can curl with a GHD (but it will be a defined curl, rather than 'poof; as you say), straighten and create cool waves, all with the magic word 'control'. A GHD puts you in the driving seat!
One last thing, too many layers can actually make your hair more pooofy! Weight keeps your hair flat in most cases. When you cut too many layers in, it can bounce up and create fluffiness. A few well positioned layers create texture and movement, but try to keep the layers fairly long (below your chin if possible) and that should help keep your hair from springing up. Your hairdresser can also cut down the volume considerably by thinning it (without layers).
Best of luck!
Nicky Clarke Kinder4Hair Ceramic and Tourmaline Straightener
i have very thick hair too, and these work great, and it only takes about 30 mins to do my hair properly. they're cheap too, so it's a great little bundle.
A Chi. They're around $120 but I know people who got them from Ebay for $70.
I also hear a lot of good things about Andis, but that didn't work on MY hair. My Chi works wonders.
i suggest you visit a salon that does hair re-bonding. this is a treatment where they straighten your hair and this will last for about 6 months to a year if properly cared for. ask if they have loreal xtenso, its a good re - bonding product. the entire treatment process may take the whole day, by the way. consult a professional hairdresser and before undergoing this treatment, be sure that you want straight limp - ish sort of hair.
hope this helps.
smiles.
I Hav Thick Hair And I Use My Pink Babyliss Staraighnteers Or My Sister Vidal Sasson Straightners It Will Only TAke About Half An Hour
get your hair thinner, and straighten it
I know how you feel! I need layers every season, thinning every season etc. Its such a hassel. if i go long without thinning and layering i feel like im wearing a beanie and scarf!
I previously used an ok brand straightener and it took my hours (like you) to straighten..this is until i bought a GHD. Now i know they are expensive but they come with a warranty and heat up in 5 seconds. They can do curls, waves, flicks and straighten. I used to think they were a waste of money but i cannot encourage you to buy anything else.
I always thought they were overrated but now i can straighten quick, sleek and effectively! You wont regret it at all..and if you for some crazy reason did u could sell it on ebay anyways :)
i have the same problem.
i just hae normal straighteners and have to do my hair in tiny bits. it takes forever but it works.
sorry im not much help :S
