if your hair is dry, frizzy, and poofy thats a sign. your hair is damaged. before you even think of turning on your flat iron make sure you condition your hair in the shower. and then when you get out put in leave in conditioner so your hair stays moist. then when your hair drys you can straighten it because you definetly dont want to overdamage it. good luckk! :D

UPDATE!: once your hair is nicely moisturized test out different temps. start at 150 and then work your way up 20 at a time. good luckk! :D
i use 350-400

but before i straighten my hair i use heat protector serum and spray and leave-in conditioner
most straightners go up to 230 degrees

so keep the temperature around there
180, my hair is the same way

and this temperature works great on it
